Opened at the turn of the millennium, the Queens Hotel is a modern, 4-storey property with a pale brick exterior, situated on the banks of the River Ouse, right at the heart of York city centre. Upon arrival the lobby looks fairly small, but there is a generous seating area around the corner behind reception. The 78 spacious guestrooms feature brightly coloured décor, complemented by floral fabrics and pale wood furnishings. They have all the facilities one would expect from a hotel of this standard, such as coffee and tea making facilities. All are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. Boasting a good reputation for its carvery dinners, the restaurant offers guests the chance to dine while enjoying river views. Limited parking is available at the hotel, but must be booked in advance.
